?Other Development Platforms?

J2ME is not the only platform available on SprintPCS.

Other platforms currently available for sale include the Treo 650 which runs Palm OS applications and the Samsung SP-i600 which runs Windows Mobile 2003. Indeed, there are many others. Several discontinued Palm and Windows based phones are still in use on the Sprint network.

As far as I know, there have been no Symbian phones ever released on Sprint. Likewise with BREW. Actually, many of the Sprint phones could run BREW applications but Sprint doesn't use the BREW distribution system. You'd need OEM diagnostic tools to flash new BREW applications on to a Sprint phone.

You can even get a "Connection Card" like the Sierra Aircard 580 or the Novatel Merlin S620. Those PCMCIA cards should work with Windows, OSX, and Linux with a bunch of determination.
