Debugging with Data Cable on MM-7500

At the Sprint Developer's Conference last December, it was mentioned that EVDO phones have the ability to be debugged using a Data Cable for J2ME apps (System.out would be redirected to USB). Has anyone been able to get this to work? Does anyone know any relevant codes or AT commands that would be used for this? ##DEBUG# doesn't seem to do anything in this regard. Any help would be appreciated.
